My name is Monika Sęk. I was born on May 31, 1988 in Katowice. I graduated from the Mieczysław Karłowicz State Music School in Katowice in the class of prof. Józef Markiel (2008) and Maria Skłodowska-Curie VIII Secondary School in Katowice (2007). Being in the diploma class, I also started full-time studies at the Academy of Music in Krakow. I am a graduate in the oboe class of prof. Jerzy Kotyczka and ad. Arkadiusz Krupa (2013) and post-graduate studies in the field of the solo game in the class of prof. Jerzy Kotyczka at the Music Academy in Krakow (2017). In September 2012 I passed the exam and in October 2012 I started working as a soloist musician - I Oboist of the Krakow Opera Orchestrawhere, since September 2017 I have been the head of the Oboe Group, and since November 2013 I Oboist - Soloist of the Beethoven Academy Orchestra, with whom I have been cooperating from 2009. Since March 2016, I have been employed as an assistant at the Woodwind Instruments Department at the Academy of Music in Krakow. On May 12, 2014, I was qualified to the Sinfonia Varsovia Academy project for the 2014/2015 season. Previously, from March to September 2012, I worked as an orchestral musician of the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra in Warsaw. From September 2011 to February 2012, I also worked as an oboe teacher in the A. Malawski State Music Schools Complex. in Przemyśl. From 2009 I started to work with such orchestras as the Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Polish Chamber Philharmonic in Sopot and NOSPR in Katowice. In the 2015/16 season, I collaborated with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra. I work under the baton of such conductors as Krzysztof Penderecki, Łukasz Borowicz, Jacek Kaspszyk, Tomasz Tokarczyk, Wojciech Rajski, Gabriel Chmura, Stanisław Krawczyński, Michał Klauza, Michał Nesterowicz, Maciej Tworek, Michał Dworzyński, Massimiliano Caldi, Jean - Luc Tingaud. At the event held from 29/04 to 5:05. 2011, 4th International Academic Competition of Oboists and Bassoonists in Lodz, I was awarded the III Prize (II Prizes were not awarded). In June 2011, I was selected by the Rector of the Academy of Music in Katowice - prof. Tomasz Miczka to represent Poland at the Lions European Music Competition for Oboe music competition, held as part of the Europa Forum in Maastricht (the Netherlands) where I obtained the Winner Music Competition 3rd Prize title. The competition took place on October 13-15, 2011. I was also the Laureate of the M. Spisak 6th Music Competition. in Dąbrowa Górnicza (15-23.09.2012). Along with the reed trio at the Ninth Polish Competition for Chamber Ensembles in Warsaw (3-5.02.2012), I obtained the Finalist Diploma, and at the Concours pour Jenues Solistes in Luxembourg (11/11/2012) I became the Laureate of the Second Prize. I try to constantly improve my skills. I took an active part in numerous orchestral courses and in oboe workshops with oboists such as Nicolas Daniel, Jean Louis Capezzali and Celine Moinet.
