Andrzej Wojciechowski

He is a graduate of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk in the clarinet class of prof. Bogdan Ocieszak (diploma with honors). He took part in numerousmaster classes with such personalities as: Andrew Marriner, Jean-Marc Fessard, Walter Vitek, Mieczysław Stachura, Brenno Ambrosini, Joseph Fuster, Nicolas Baldeyrou, Florent Héau, Antonio Saiote, Alessandro Travaglini, Wolfgang Meyer. In 2002-2003 he studied in the master class of Joan Enric Lunna under the aegis of the Spanish ConservatoriSuperior De Musica in Castello (Spain).

His achievements include awards and distinctions obtained in: National Auditions of Woodwind Instruments classes in Olsztyn (2002); Clarinet Festival in Piotrków Trybunalski (2003 and 2005); VIII and IX International Competition of Contemporary Chamber Music in Krakow (2005 and 2006); XIII Academic Clarinet Competition in Włoszakowice (2006); The International Chamber Competition in Oleśnica (2006);K. Bacewicz International Chamber Competition  in Łódź (2010), where he was also awarded a special prize for the best clarinetist of the competition; Malta International Music Competition (2014).

He was a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for outstandingmusical achievements.

As a soloist he has performed in Germany, Monaco, Italy, South Africa, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, England, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, USA, Canada, Russia, China, Ukraine and in many Polish cities. He performed under the baton of: Łukasz Borowicz, Wojciech Rajski, Robert Kabara, Vittorio Parisi, Georg Mais, Massimiliano Caldi, Dawid Runtz, Wiesław Kwaśny, Rodrigo Tomillo, Giulio Magnani, Jan Jakub Bokuna, Janusz Przybylski and Piotr Staniszewski and many others.

In December 2017 he obtained the title of doctor habilitated in music sciences. He is currently employed at the Music Academy S. Moniuszki in Gdańsk.

He is the first clarinetist of the Chopin Polish BalticPhilharmonic in Gdańsk, with which he participated in many world tours, among others the United States and China performing in Los Angeles, Orlando, New York, Detroit, St. Louis, Columbia, Las Vegas, Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hagzhou. He constantly cooperates with the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Sopot, in which he regularly gives concerts withsuch artists as: Ivo Pogorelić, Piotr Beczała, Wolfgang Meyer, Shirley Brill, Gerhard Oppitz and many others. He alsorepeatedly performed solo parts with this ensemble. The most important achievements include the daring performance of Krzysztof Penderecki's Concerto per clarinetto in the presenceof the Master himself.

Together with Sławomir Wilk (piano) he creates the Inspiro Duo formation. He is a member of the Polish Basethorn Ensemble - a unique quintet composed of lecturers from the most important music schools in Poland. He also co-createsthe Gdańsk Reed Trio. He leads many artistic activities with them, giving concerts in Poland and Europe and making many recordings.

In 2014, he joined the prestigious group of Selmer Musicians - producer of world-class musical instruments.

From November 2015 he is a guest professor at Ning Xia Univerity of Art in Yin Chuan (China).

In 2016, the first solo album of the artist ‚A Tribute to Benny Goodman’ was released by the renowned record label DUX, including the first Polish recording of Aaron Copland's Concerto for clarinet and string or compositions dedicated to the artist: ‚Clarinet Concerto’ by Beniamin Baczewski and ‚From the cursed forest Suite’ by Artur Guza
